Blow! Gideon, Blow!
Blow! Gideon, Blow!”
The Lord looked to the tribe of Manesseh
for a prophet devout to His word,
to rescue the land of Judea
and ensure that God's message was heard.
Young Gideon blow, blow, blow that trumpet.
Blow that trumpet well.
For the Midianites are comin'
across the river Jordan
to hunt down the Children of Israel.
You gotta burn the idol, toast a bull.
Light the fire at night so the neighbors won't know.
When the morning comes, they'll stomp and wail,
"Who tore down the alter of Baal?"
So, Gideon blow, blow, blow that trumpet.
Blow that trumpet well.
For the Midianites are comin'
across the river Jordan
to hunt down the Children of Israel.
The Lord said "Your army is too big for me.
I don't need all’ these soldiers for victory.
Lead 'em down to the water, let 'em drink their fill.
If they lap like a dog, they're the three hundred men who will
Blow, blow, blow that trumpet.
Blow that trumpet well.
For the Midianites are comin'
across the river Jordan
to hunt down the Children of Israel.
Then the Lord said, "Gideon, it's time to fight.
So wake up and rally the Israelites."
With a torch in the left hand, trumpet in the right,
they crept up to the army of the Midianites.
'Cause he followed to the letter what the Lord had said,
they rolled through the camp like a loaf of bread.
So, Gideon blow, blow, blow that trumpet.
Blow that trumpet well.
For the Midianites are runnin'
across the river Jordan
and far from the Children of Israel.
