handThe Featured Composer Series seeks to raise awareness of a selected composer by performing that individual's work throughout the season. By weaving a number of works into the concert repertoire and marketing the composer with each performance, SCH hopes to generate positive exposure that compels publishers and other ensembles to program the composer's works.

Qualification and Application Process

Composers interested in being considered for SCH's Featured Composer Program need to have a minimum of two works accepted into the Project Encore™ of Schola Cantorum on Hudson program. Accepted submissions are uploaded to the PE™ Database quarterly. The submission process is entirely electronic and may be accessed here.

Once the Project Encore™ qualification has been met, the composer is asked to contact Dr. Deborah Simpkin King, SCH  Artistic Director and Founder, expressing that interest. Communication and additional exchange of material will follow directly.
