Jamie Klenetsky

A composer, singer, and designer, Jamie Klenetsky's work spans the creative spectrum. Jamie is an award-winning composer focusing primarily on choral and vocal music; she also writes instrumental and electronic music.

Jamie Klenetsky was born in 1984 in Freehold, New Jersey. In her first year of high school Jamie began composing vocal pop/rock songs for her friends and family, and became a member of many choirs, including the All-State Choir. Realizing her love of written music, she decided to pursue a career in composition. In 2002 she entered Rutgers University as a double-major in music and East Asian studies.

Jamie studied film scoring, classical composition, recording and arranging under Dr. Matthew Riedel. She was also a member of numerous choirs, performing in Carnegie Hall and touring in Newfoundland, Canada and Taiwan.

Upon graduation in 2006, Jamie pursued a career in another field she loves, web design, while focusing strongly on composition. In 2007, Jamie entered five composition competitions, winning second place in two of them and placing in a third. Two of her works, “An Ever-Fixed Mark” and “The Temple Bells” were performed by C4, a new music choral ensemble in New York. Recently she studied under composer Jon Appleton at the Vermont Composition Workshop.

Jamie currently lives in Morristown, NJ, working as a web designer for the Morris County Government. She is a member of Schola Cantorum on Hudson and sings professionally with the Seton Hall Chapel Choir, which whom her most recent piece, “I Call Upon You”, was performed.
