turn to PROJECT : ENCORE™

PROJECT : ENCORE™ was born of an inspiration to create a new paradigm for evaluating and promoting significant new choral works. Officially launched in June of 2009, Project Encore is a resource through which composers worldwide can enhance their visibility in ways that lead to repeat performances for their compositions, and to which conductors can turn when seeking new repertoire that has been endorsed by a panel of some of the world's leading conductors. The Project's recognition as a vital source of fine music, along with its prestigious and growing conductor pool, is rapidly making it a new standard for selecting the best in new choral music.

Project Encore is proudly celebrating a “second birth,” so to speak, with a new logo, and a much larger effort to expand its scope and reach. Through these early months, the Project's founding inspiration has deepened and evolved, poising it now on a firm foundation from which to become a permanent and vital component of the choral music world.

Knowledge of the Project Encore database has, to date, spread almost exclusively by word of mouth. Even so, the Project is already close to 70 compositions strong, and boasts an international following. We are deeply gratified that, even at this early stage, some prominent ‘next performances’ have come about as a direct result of Project Encore.

"Exposure is a critical component to success for any musician.  PROJECT : ENCORE™ provides an invaluable service to composers, connecting them with musicians around the world who otherwise may have never come across their work. Through PROJECT : ENCORE™, a piece of mine came to the attention of Charles Bruffy, whose Phoenix Chorale and Kansas City Chorale performed my setting of the English carol "Joys Seven" at their holiday concerts in December of 2009.  I composed "Joys Seven" for the Stewart Consort, a seven-voice ensemble which premiered the work at their Christmas concert at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City, Long Island, New York."
